What happens when somebody is arrested in San Francisco County?

When somebody is arrested in San Francisco County, the defendant is usually brought to the 425 7th Street, San Francisco location for booking.  The booking process usually takes 4-8 hours and involves removing personal effects from the defendant, fingerprinting, taking a mug shot photo, checking for warrants and various other booking procedures.  After the defendant has been processed, they will likely be eligible for bail.  The jail staff will utilize the San Francisco Bail Schedule for the purpose of setting the appropriate bail bond amount.  The defendant or a family member will usually make contact with a bail bondsman to transact bail.  A bail bondsman will charge a fee (usually 10% of the full bail amount).  The bail bondsman will then "post" the bail bond at the appropriate jail facility (usually 850 Bryant Street Jail) which begins the release process.  On average, the defendant will be released in 2-4 hours after the bail bond has been "posted".  Note that inmates may get transferred to other San Francisco jails during the time they are in custody.

Why you should use our bail bond services?

We are a second generation company that has been in business since 1969, and during that time our family has transacted hundred's of San Francisco bail bonds.  Our years of experience and reputable conduct have allowed our company to obtain the highest rating with the Better Business Bureau (A Rating).  Our level of professionalism is not something people often find in a bail bond service in San Francisco. We often hear our customers say something like, "You folks seem too nice to be in the bail bonds business."  We hope that you will give us an opportunity to gain your trust and respect.  Please call us at 415-831-BAIL.

Going to court

At some point, many of our bail customers will find themselves going to a San Francisco Courthouse. The criminal division is located at 850 Bryant Street. The courthouse is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday, except holidays.  The first court appearance is usually the arraignment where the defendant will give a plea of "guilty" or "not guilty".  If you don't hire a private attorney, you can get assistance from the public defender.

Attorney Referrals

If you are a criminal defense attorney who is seeking bail services for one of your arrestees/clients, we provide special attorney services specifically under our Attorney Services Program.  We are uniquely aware that when a criminal defense attorney recommends our bail bond company to an arrestee, that the referral is a direct reflection of that attorney's judgment.  For example, if an attorney recommended an arrestee to use our bail company and we performed poorly, the arrestee would rightfully question the judgment of that attorney.   Please contact our company and we can fully explain our Attorney Services Program.

Final note

As experienced San Francisco bondsmen, we are fully aware of the stress of bailing a loved one from jail.  The majority of our clients are "first-timers" who have never utilized the services of a bail bondsman. Our professional agents are expertly trained to guide you through the bail process.  Sit back and relax.  Leave the worry to us.  Please feel free to browse our website where you will find an abundance of information about San Francisco bail bonds.  Or, call us at 1-415-831-BAIL.
